Veterans With Benefits

Anthony Taijeron, a native of Guam, has devoted his life to serving his country and helping his fellow veterans. Born and raised on the beautiful island, he felt a deep sense of duty and patriotism that led him to enlist in the US Army for five years, followed by six years of service in the Guam Air National Guard.

During his time in the military, he demonstrated unwavering dedication and served his country with honor. His experiences and the challenges he faced shaped him into a compassionate and empathetic individual, inspiring him to make a lasting impact on the lives of veterans on Guam.

His passion for supporting veterans led him- along with fellow veterans-to create HMI- I Hinanao, I Magahet Yan I Ininna, a non profit organization. HMI is dedicated to assisting veterans on Guam and in the region. He was later made the president for HMI. In the past four years, He has worked tirelessly to improve the well-being and livelihoods of his fellow veterans. Through his non-profit organization, he has helped countless veterans access the benefits they rightfully deserve.

By ensuring that veterans receive the support they need, he is not only enhancing their lives but also contributing to the local economy. The benefits received by these veterans have a positive ripple effect, stimulating Guam's economy and fostering growth within the community.

His selflessness and commitment have made him a respected figure among veterans and the wider community. His tireless efforts and dedication have created a profound impact on the lives of those he serves. His story is a testament to the power of compassion, resilience, and the profound difference one individual can make in the lives of others.

Corina Ballesta, a dedicated Air Force veteran, has proudly served her country for 15 years in various roles, including Air Transportation, Security Forces, and Finance. Throughout her military career, she demonstrated exceptional commitment, particularly during Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Noble Eagle.

Her outstanding service has been recognized with numerous accolades, including the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and Nuclear Deterrence Operations Service Medal. These prestigious awards reflect CB's unwavering dedication and exemplary performance in the face of adversity.

In addition to her military experience, she has received comprehensive training to become a Veterans Service Officer (VSO).This specialized training has equipped her with the knowledge and skills necessary to assist veterans in navigating the complex process of accessing the benefits and support they deserve. She has put this training to excellent use, actively assisting veterans through organizations such as the American Legion and serving under the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) ADSO at the HMI Bootcamps for the past 12 Bootcamps.

Now part of the HMI team, her unique blend of military experience, academic pursuits, and VSO training grants her a deep understanding of the challenges veterans face. Her unwavering commitment is a beacon, illuminating the path to success not just for veterans, but for the entire community. With her unwavering devotion, she is poised to continue making a difference, bringing hope and support to those in need.
